Digital Misson NYC is back! A group of the leading digital startups and agencies will head across the Atlantic for a specially-tailored programme coinciding with Social Media Week New York (17-21 Feb).
The programme builds on five years of Digital Missions to New York working with local entrepreneurs, agencies, influencers and practitioners to create a cracking programme inculding masterclasses, briefings, company visits, VIP reception with the British Consulate and access to the best of Social Media Week NYC.
The trip is designed for fast-growing UK firms in the digital and agency sector focusing on media, marketing, advertising, real-time bidding, big data, app development, analytics, professional services (design/technical/UX/game development) any suppliers to the marketers in agencies and major brands.

Social Media Week NYC
The mission coincides with Social Media Week NYC (SMWNYC), allowing companies to explore the hundreds of events, covering extensive topics along the vein of social media throughout the week – meaning there’ll always be something going on!
As a Digital Mission delegate, you’ll get a Social Media Week Insider Pass providing unlimited access to all SMW official events at the Highline Stages(including all sessions, keynotes and masterclasses) plus the legendary SMWNYC Opening and Closing parties.
Keynote speakers include billionaire AOL co-founder & Chair of Startup America,Steve Case, Upworthy CEO, Eli Pariser, renowned Internet researcher, Danah Boyd, Buzzfeed CEO, Jonah Peretti, John Borthwick CEO of Betaworks, Meetup CEO,Scott Heiferman and noted author Douglas Rushkoff amongst many others.
And that’s just scratching the surface, there’s a whole host of great speakers from companies including MTV, L’Oreal, Huffington Post, Zynga, New York Times, Mindshare, PHD, Nokia amongst many others.

How Much Does it Cost?
This Mission will be operating a tiered cost system, so pricing will depend on your company type / size as below:
Start-ups, SME’s & Academics
To qualify as a start-up or SME, your company must have less than 250 employees and less than €50m turnover. Academic staff must be able to prove their credentials.
- £699 for the first 5 companies confirmed
- £999 for those confirmed after that
Agencies & Larger Companies
An agency is broadly defined as a business that delivers services for creative and technical development. Larger Companies are those that have more than 250 employees and/or have more than €50m turnover.
- £899 for the first 5 companies confirmed
- £1,599 for those confirmed after that
Observer slots are strictly limited and give the chance for companies and organisations that support digital firms in their objectives e.g. lawyers, accountants to take part in the mission. Observers spend the full week with the mission companies, participate in the events, but are not invited to pitch or present.
£1,999 per delegate
- All of the above costs include one delegate per company and exclude VAT, travel & accommodation costs.
- There will be a small charge for extra delegates at £299 per person.
- Contribution to costs must be paid in full to confirm a place on the Digital Mission
- Paying by debit/credit card or Paypal will incur a £40 booking fee.
- Companies are responsible for their own travel insurance and ESTA
- Details of the activities during the Digital Mission are subject to change

Abbotts Travel can provide a range of solutions for all budgets and take care of any required aspects of your travel arrangements, from flights, transfers, hotel accommodation and visa advice, to booking additional trips and journeys within the US.

UKTI London has made available a limited number of grants for companies taking part in the mission. Applications can be made through Chinwag who will help with the paperwork and liaise with UKTI London once your company has been accepted onto the mission. The £500 grants are paid retrospectively as a refund towards travel and accommodation expenses.
