IC tomorrow, in association with the Institute of Practitioners in Advertising (IPA), has launched the ‘Digital Innovation Contest – Advertising’ in partnership with some of the UK’s biggest names in advertising and innovation – MediaCom and Mars Chocolate UK; Vizeum; digital advertising trade body, the Internet Advertising Bureau UK (IAB); and the UK’s innovation foundation, Nesta. This contest is offering a total funding pot of up to £100k (four awards of up to £25k) to encourage digital innovation in advertising.
In addition to the funding, winners will retain their intellectual property and benefit from the valuable opportunity to establish an early customer for their new technology, by running a trial with the relevant challenge partner. The contest is open to any EU-based start-ups and SMEs; it is not necessary to have an existing app or service to apply, or to be currently active in the advertising sector.
The four challenge categories are:
- · ‘Next-generation social media analytics tools’, supported by IAB UK
- · ‘Enhanced TV advertising’, supported by Vizeum
- · ‘Innovation in hyperlocal advertising’, supported by Nesta
- · ‘Smart mobile advertising’, supported by Mars Chocolate UK and MediaCom
Potential applicants are encouraged to come along to the briefing event on Wednesday 4 December in London (2pm to 5.30pm at BL-NK, 37 East Road, N1 6AZ).
