Gateway to Research (GtR) is your gateway to the latest innovative research from across the UK’s seven Research Councils and TSB in one website….
…. who is researching what and where; who are the experts in your field of industry; what and where are the research trends for your area of business; what other information can be drawn upon to make GtR even more powerful…..
We would like to invite you to register an expression of interest to join in with our GtR Hack Event at The Hub Westminster in London on the weekend of the 23rd/24th November 2013.
The GtR team are meeting up with SMEs and developers to discover new and innovative ways of using GtR information to help solve some of the challenges that SMEs face in trying to connect with research info on a day-to-day basis.
We are looking for around 20 SMEs to join in periodically over the weekend along with 20+ developers (there will be plenty of time for you to break-out/network etc) - we would particularly welcome your expertise in advising the developers about how they could solve your business challenges.
Additionally, if you are a technology business you might like to participate in a more “hands-on” way with the development teams ahead of the “Show and Tell”, judging and awarding of prizes for the three best projects on the Sunday afternoon.
The event be an excellent opportunity for you to:
- identify new commercial opportunities utilising the rich data in GtR as the basis for a new business proposition
- make your business more successful
- network with other like-minded SMEs
- help maximise the potential of the research information in the SME world
- share in the publicity from this high profile event
Emails registering interest should include company name, specific area of expertise (e.g. SME adviser or tech business), category/type of business, your geographical area and a short description of your interest in the event. Please send these details to email@example.com by close of play Wednesday 20th November 2013.
The criteria for selection of SMEs to attend will be based on the team achieving attendance from as many industry sectors as possible.
Those SMEs that are selected to join us will be paid T&S for the event.
This exciting event precedes the launch of GtR on the 4th December at The House Of Commons by The Right Hon David Willetts MP.
