Digital Innovation Contest – Games: Deadline Approaching

Do you have innovative ideas that could contribute to the future of the games industry?

There is just over a week left to enter the ‘Digital Innovation Contest – Games’. Remember, you must submit your application by 12 noon on Wednesday 16 October.

IC tomorrow, in partnership with Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, Crytek UK, Intel, Google Chrome, ODEON Cinemas and Pinewood Studios, is offering five businesses up to £25,000* each in funding for the most innovative commercial solutions meeting digital challenges set in conjunction with our partners.

Winners will fully retain their intellectual property and be given the opportunity to trial their solution with the relevant challenge partner. Proposals will ideally have the potential to work across a wider commercial market once the contest trial has ended.

Details about each challenge and tips for applying can be found by watching the Digital Innovation Contest – Games challenge video.

This opportunity is open to any EU-based company; it is not necessary to have an existing app or service to apply or to be currently active in the games sector. We are looking for good ideas, which fit one of the five broad challenges:

  • Second-screen use in a game
  • Open street map data
  • New markets and perceptual computing
  • Wider games distribution on mobile web
  • Games and cinema

To apply, complete the online application form and provide a link to a two-minute online video explaining your solution. The video can be anything from a simple piece to camera, to a demo and should highlight the freshness and innovation behind the proposed idea while outlining why it is applicable to the particular contest challenge. But hurry, the application deadline is 12 noon Wednesday 16 October.

For those who have already started their application don’t forget you must hit the submit button before the deadline or your application will not be considered.
