Virgin Media Shorts 2013

Virgin Media Shorts 2013

And there goes the final whistle!

As you can probably tell from that dodgy football analogy in the title there, Virgin Media Shorts 2013 is officially closed for entries. Films were coming in thick and fast right up to the midday deadline on July 18th. In the end, we had over 800 films entered, and once again we’ve been left totally dumbfounded by the high level of talent on display. Judging by what we’ve seen, the British film industry is in safe hands for years to come.

But while the competition might be closed, the fun is far from over. In fact, we’re just getting started. From now until Sunday the 28th, you have the chance to vote for your favourite film and help it be in with a chance of making it into the shortlist as the Lucky13 entry. How’s this done you ask, with Twitter, that’s how.

The eligible film that generates the highest number of tweets and Twitter buzz between the 22nd and 28th will become our Lucky 13 entrant and be in with a chance of bagging that £30,000 worth of film funding. You can vote for your favourite film directly on Twitter by simply stating the name of the film followed by the all-important #VMShortsVote, or via the Twitter ‘Share’ button found underneath the film. It really is that simple. But just remember, Twitter hashtags are the only way to cast your Lucky13 vote. We just like to keep everything simple round these parts.

So what are you waiting for? Head on over to Virgin Media Shorts and pick your favourite. They might just go all the way!
