MEDIA Antenna Wales is pleased to announce its support for GamesDev South Wales – The Sessions, a series of inspirational talks from games industry professionals. GamesDev South Wales is a monthly networking event in Cardiff organised by local games developers, bringing together games development professionals, hobbyists, students, and anyone else with an interest in the industry.
GamesDev South Wales – The Sessions is a free, quarterly series of lectures given by games development professionals, and is designed to provide insight into all aspects of game creation, from game design to financing, coding to visual effects and from publishing to narrative design.
Confirmed speakers for the first Session are Alexis Kennedy, Chief Narrative Officer of Failbetter and Antony White and Steven Craft from Paw Print Games. Failbetter is an award-winning games studio whose StoryNexus platform allows anyone to build, share and monetise narrative-led games. Their first project, Fallen London, won the Escapist’s Best Browser Game Award. Alexis has spoken at many high-profile games development events and has consulted with Failbetter for a variety of diverse clients. Antony White and Steven Craft are the founders of Paw Print Games, an independent games development studio specialising in multiplatform production.
The first Session will take place on 27 November 2012 at Chapter in Cardiff. All Sessions are free to attend, but booking is essential. Each Session will be followed by an opportunity to network with the speakers and local games developers.
