£150k* to encourage digital innovation in the music sector – Deadline Extended

IC tomorrow in partnership with Decca Classics, Warner/Chappell Music, The Bedford, BBC Proms, Rocket Music Management and HMV is excited to announce the launch of the Digital Innovation Contest – Music which opens today. The contest is offering a total of six businesses up to £24,000* each in funding to develop innovative prototypes meeting challenges set by our contest music industry partners. These prototypes should ideally have the potential to work across a wider commercial market. Successful applicants will be expected to trial their proposed solutions with the respective challenge partner for a minimum of three months. IC tomorrow will be awarding successful businesses:

  • two awards of up to £24,000* each for the development of a prototype application, product or service in the ‘Rights and monetisation’ challenge area
  • two awards of up to £24,000* each for the development of a prototype application, product or service in the ‘Digital and live music’ challenge area
  • two awards of up to £24,000* each for the development of a prototype application, product or service in the ‘Linking digital to physical’challenge area.

 

The contest offers a unique opportunity for startups and SMEs to gain from a partnership with a range of leading music industry companies, receive funding to develop a prototype, test their proposed application/product/service with leading industry players before taking it to a wider commercial market and retain their intellectual property.
