Power to the Pixel Announces Conference Programme & Speaker Line-up for The Cross-Media Forum

More than 100 leading international players working in interactive media, film, television, advertising, publishing, state funding and cross-media will arrive at London’s BFI Southbank next month to present, discover and discuss new projects and their market potential during Power to the Pixel’s (PttP) annual Cross-Media Forum.

16 October – Conference

Speaking for the first time in the UK, award-winning novelist and co-creator of cross-media story worlds around The Dark Knight and Halo franchises, Sean Stewart (USA) will deliver the keynote presentation.  Stewart is also the Co-Founder of and Head Writer at US-based Fourth Wall Studios which has recently scooped a Primetime Emmy in Interactive Media 2012 for Dirty Work.

Other leading international experts and award-winning creatives include Loc Dao (CAN), National Film Board of Canada’s Head of Digital Content & Strategy whose multi-award-winning projects include Bear 71; Ingrid Kopp (USA) Director of Digital Initiatives at New York’s Tribeca Film Institute and Managing Director of Egmont Press, Cally Poplak (UK) will give the first public demonstration of soon-to-be published multimedia app War Horse.

Lance Weiler (USA) will close the conference with the largest live story collaboration ever, as delegates join in to develop a project from idea to prototype to collaborative story.

17 October – The Pixel Pitch competition 

Michel Reilhac, Executive Director of ARTE France Cinéma will present the keynote speech, introducing The Pixel Pitch – an incredible opportunity to find out what kinds of projects commissioners and top-level executives are looking to fund, and how best to approach them.

Twenty-seven entrepreneurs, commissioners and financiers will form The Pixel Pitch Jury, a panel who will choose one of eight projects to receive the prestigious £6,000 ARTE Pixel Pitch Prize. Jurors this year include Rosie Allimonos, Content Partnerships, Original Programming YouTube; Rob Crossen, Executive Producer for Entertainment, EMEA at Xbox LIVE; Louise Brown, Multiplatform Commissioning Lead at Channel 4; Lizzie Francke, Senior Executive, BFI Film Fund; Anna Rafferty, Managing Director, Penguin Digital at Penguin Books.
