Connected Digital Economy Catapult: register your interest by 28th March

For all creative industries – from startup to corporate level – the new Connected Digital Economy Catapult (CDEC) represents an unmissable opportunity for you to play a key role in shaping the future of the UK’s innovation marketplace. For large and established companies there will be the opportunity to build strategic partnerships around the latest media, internet, computing and communications challenges and capabilities. From an SME perspective, the Catapult will facilitate your potential to become a stakeholder in a multi-million pound collaborative project.

The TSB are now keen to hear from organisations who would like to discuss priorities for the CDEC, have resources and capabilities that could contribute to the centre’s operations, or would consider becoming actively involved in its implementation.

To download the Registration of Interest brochure and submit your registration, visitwww.catapult.org.uk/digital. The deadline to register an interest is noon on 28th March. You will be then sent a form which you will need to submit before noon on 4 April 2012.

The new Connected Digital Economy Catapult was announced by the Technology Strategy Board back in January of this year. The Creative Industries KTN is one of three KTNs who have formed a Special Interest Group to act as the forum for engagement with the Catapult.

The connected digital economy represents the emerging area of internet-driven convergence, where content, data, people, businesses and the physical world connect in new ways to deliver radically new applications, services and experiences. This convergence will disrupt existing value chains, transform traditional business models and create new markets.

Clearly from a creative industries perspective, the CDEC, in its broad aim to coordinate and link UK-wide expertise, will provide new opportunities for strategic collaborations with a broad range of commercial and academic partners across traditional sector boundaries. It will also offer access to state-of-the-art testing facilities, software and equipment, data and content, demonstrators and customer bases.

If you are interested to follow future developments within the Connected Digital Economy Catapult, you are also encouraged to join the Special Interest Group on _Connect where all the latest news and information about will be posted.
