Manchester’s Digital Skills Summit, 21st – 22nd February

The digital sector in Manchester continues to grow and with the arrival of the BBC the problem of finding, keeping and developing skilled and talented people is becoming more difficult for businesses.

The second Digital Skills Summit will start the process of providing answers. It’s a source of valuable information and guidance for anyone who needs access to digital talent and it’s the opportunity for the digital community to shape skills development across the region and keep the next generation of digital talent in Manchester.

This is a must attend event for everyone working in the digital sector – from technical to creative, from media and marketing to software.

21 February, Conference -13:30 – 18:00

Day 1 is an afternoon conference where you can learn and influence:

  • Which courses local colleges and universities offer
  • Ways of finding and attracting graduates
  • How to find students for work experience
  • Affordable ways to develop staff skills and keep up with technical change
  • Opportunities for placement and apprenticeship schemes
  • Plus have your say on what colleges and universities should be doing

Attendance at the Summit is free and open to any digital business or education provider.

22 February, Talent Day – 12:30 – 15:30

Day 2 is a Talent Day where you can join with a maximum of 39 other businesses and meet students from all the universities across the North West:

  • Over 500 students all looking for careers in digital  will attend
  • Make sure they know about the opportunities in Manchester and that you can offer
  • Find candidates for work experience and informal placements
  • Find potential employees
  • Even if you’re not interested in recruiting now you can find out what students are  learning and identify future potential.

Attendance at the Talent Day is free and open to any Manchester Digital member.
