Innovate through Creative Communication

  • Understand the pragmatic impact of good and bad communications
  • Learn why communications often go wrong
  • Understand clear practices for good communications.

For: All SMEs who believe that good communication is crucial to their business strategy and success, and for everyone who deals with customers, external contracts or who manages staff internally.

Innovate through Talent Management

  • Outline the role of people in the innovation process
  • Demonstrate that talent identification and management underpins an innovative business
  • Recognise that psychological techniques can be used to develop company culture through how and who it recruits, and the impact of this on potential innovativeness
  • Apply psychological approaches to underpin staff development and training to support the creation of an innovative culture.

Innovate through Digital Record Keeping

Most business failures are caused where financial management is not effectively undertaken. This workshop will introduce you to SAGE Digital Accountancy which is the most commonly used business accounting software. Attendance at this session will enable you to purchase a full working copy of SAGE T Line 50 and detailed user manuals valid for a minimum of 6 months at heavily discounted prices.

When: Tuesday 7 February 2012, 9am – 5pm

Planning for the Financing of Innovation

All businesses need to effectively manage business data. This workshop will demonstrate how using the SAGE Digital Accountancy software will help you achieve this goal. Attendance at this session will enable you to purchase a full working copy of SAGE T Line 50 and detailed user manuals valid for a minimum of 6 months at heavily discounted prices.

Innovation is a State of Mind

Innovation and creativity start in our minds, and our thoughts and beliefs shape our reality. This interactive workshop will demonstrate techniques that can be used to create innovative and agile mind sets.

Agile Innovation Leadership

Innovation is about both doing new things and learning to do old things in new ways in order to add new value. This workshop will investigate ways of nurturing talent and empowering people to experiment and drive change processes in a sustainable way.

Building on the Olympic Legacy

One of the great hopes of the 2012 Olympics is that the legacy will provide social, economic and cultural benefits for many years to come. The real estate that is left will be a tangible manifestation of the legacy. This workshop will creatively consider ways that can be used to attract innovative new events.

When: Thursday 23 February 2012, 9am – 5pm

Using Technology to Create Innovative Costing and Pricing Models

Learn how to gain a profitable and sustainable competitive advantage through the innovative application of costing and pricing strategies. This workshop will combine theoretical knowledge and practical skills, and introduce you to modelling and sensitivity analysis.

When: Wednesday 29 February 2012, 9am – 5pm

The FLASH Innovation programme forms part of the Institute for Sustainability’s FLASH project which is part-funded by ERDF. The main activities of FLASH Innovation include regular workshops, networking events and innovation coaching etc. all free to eligible London-based SMEs.
