Job Overview

Based within a very friendly team in their Kent head offices, the successful Web Developer will make a valuable contribution to the continued development of their eCommerce websites including the template building for both SEO and Secure sides of the booking process and back end development work.
The Web Developer will utilise a good level proficiency with XHTML, CSS, and Photoshop. Ideally, you will have some exposure to the LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) environment and an ability to code basic PHP and JavaScript as well as set up and interrogate MySQL database within web applications and code.

Job Description

Responsibilities will include:
Problem solving where required using technical skills and knowledge
To overbrand products utilising affiliate brand guidelines where supplied.
To produce high quality mock-ups for external clients – assisting in winning the contract using pre-determined designs
To build bespoke web booking sites for external clients ensuring all required items are covered (i.e. headers, footers, navigation bars, page titles etc) including error handling, layout and product information based on predetermined designs.
To understand the bespoke content management systems, the product library system and the booking XML communications
Design, Develop and Deploy ecommerce project requirements on to the web environment including web forms, booking flows and on page functions
Assist with optimisation, speed improvements and code compression and hardening
Ongoing housekeeping of current sites and all core products (including managing own Jira queues)
Ensure all work produced has been thoroughly tested (xbrowser) before publishing
Assisting with the mentoring of new staff where possible
